Thursday 9th February

Jeff Morgan followed up a very successful session at the Black and White Group on Wednesday with a presentation, ‘Through his Lens’, on Thursday evening.  Jeff is a widely travelled professional photographer with over 35 years experience, and lived in the States for some years.  He’s now settled in Ryde, on the Isle of Wight, and we saw images from the USA, his workshops in France and from his new home.  His affection for the island came across really strongly, as did his highly developed technical skills. Jeff is particularly enthusiastic about low light, landscape and city scape photography, as well as having long experience in writing articles and tutorials where his enjoyment of his topics  shone through.

We were very pleased to have received a ‘thank you’ from the Snowdrop Trust for the £152 raised by our Christmas card collection.  Congratulations to Margret Preece as well for arranging that each year.

Our Portrait Group also received a ‘thank you’ from the Lavant Players for the photographs they took at a recent rehearsal session. The Portrait Group meets on an ad hoc basis rather than monthly, if you’d like to find out more about the sessions they run do ask Jan Davis.

Finally – a reminder from Joan and Jon Barham for prints for the Hospice.  Joan and Jon organise a changing collection of prints at the Hospice which is always appreciated.  Currently, they have no images at all in the collection box so do please look out some prints for them next week.
