Ordinary Meeting of the Chichester Photographic Society, July 14th 1896

An Ordinary Meeting of the Chichester Photographic Society took place on July 14th 1896 at St Martins Hall.

Mr JH Vinnall was in the Chair. Other members attending were ST Smith, E Thorp, GM Turnbull, E Hollebone, FB Tompkins, J Harkson and E Anthony.

Eight prints were submitted for the monthly competition for the Challenge Medal. In the ballot 4 members received 2 votes each so the prints were sent to the President for his casting vote which went to Mr Turnbull who was presented with the Challenge Medal for the month.

Mr Tompkins then gave a talk on Landscape photography.

Afterwards the members went on a boat trip from the Canal Basin to Birdham. There was a stop at Donnington where several exposures were made. By the time the boat reached Birdham there was nothing to do as the tide was out. (nothing changes)
