Chairmans Blog 6th March
Next week we have the PAGB Group on Monday, the Print Group on Tuesday, the Portrait workshop on Wednesday and Rosemary Wilman Hon FRPS “About Time & More” on Thursday.
Deadlines for the 3rd Adv print competition this Thursday and the 17th for the Beginners and Intermediate print competition. Also deadline for the hanging plan for the Spring Exhibition is the 24th March.
On Thursdays Club Meeting we realised how high the standard is in the PDI images in the First Division of the SCPF league. The judging by Steve Smith was very precise and fair. He gave excellent relevant comments to support his scoring. By giving points from 4 to 10 managed to differentiate between the images and separate the clubs. We should be prepared in our own competitions to have a wider range of scores when the judges are as skilled as Steve in their analysis.
Our highest scoring image was from Janey Devine “I am Telling You” and we finished as 3rd the behind Southampton, New Forest and Bracknell finishing 5th overall. Well done to all our PDI entrants: Frank Adams, George Atkins, David Harris, Trevor Sims, Peter Searight, Pietro Rocchiccioli, Sheila Tester and Janey Devine.
Our position at the top of the First Division of the SCPF Print League looks secure.
The En-print competition ended with very strong entries by Ed Feldmanis winning the first three paces in competition with very good images. Well done Ed.
