Chair update

Hi All,

I thought Paul Thackary was extremely good last night judging the superb PDI’s entered by our advanced members. Congratulations to all entrants and especially to those who were awarded a 10. To get a 10 amongst that quality was a brilliant achievement.

A quick reminder to any who are keen on uploading the Luminar software mentioned by Robert Pugh last week. There is a link on his website, rpphotograhyby design.co.uk, that offers a discount.

Members will be interested in the following 2020 Photographic Exhibition at the Oxmarket Gallery in Chichester by the Arena group. This runs from 24th November – 6th December 2020 Tuesday – Sunday: 10.00 to 16.30.
‘The highly regarded group Arena Photographers from the South aims to promote the highest standards in photography and to encourage printmaking. Exhibiting together is a key part of the philosophy of the group and this exhibition comprises a selection of diverse portfolios from nine of its members’. Admission is free.

Iain McGowan has sadly announced that the North Mundham exhibition has had to be cancelled. Another loss to us because of Covid. Roll on 2021 says Iain and we all agree with that.

Next week we have the pleasure of the company of Leo Rich. Leo will be presenting his talk ‘The Idle Rich – Sliding into Digital’ which I’m sure will be well worth watching and I hope to see as many of you as possible attending the Zoom meeting.

On a final sad note, Glyn reported that Ian Platt FRPS MFIAP (1st in UK) MPAGB HonPAGB passed away peacefully on Sunday.

That’s all for this week. Please stay safe.

Mike
