Hi All,

Great presentations from Pete and Leigh of the Focus group last night so looking forward to the second one from Janey and Nigel on the 29th.

The following two items will be of interest for members.

1. The photographer Paul Sansome, is holding an exhibition in the newly refurbished Oxmarket Centre of Arts in Chichester which he is sharing with glassmaker, Sue Tinkler. They are exhibiting work based on shared themes and locations. Chichester Observer coverage is here PhotoFusion – Oxmarket and the exhibition runs from 13th – 25th April (closed Mondays)

2. Margret Preece’s daughter Caroline will be giving a free talk for the RPS on 27 April at 6pm.  The talk is entitled “Tools not Rules” and she aims to provide photographers with an understanding of the impact of their in-camera and post-processing choices on the feel of the end image, in other words it is about photography as a visual language and the psychology of composition. This is the link for Caroline’s talk and you will also be able to read more about it here:  https://rps.org/events/regions/east-midlands/2021/april/tools-not-rules-a-talk-by-caroline-preece-lrps-on-photography-as-a-visual-language/
She has given this talk to quite a few clubs across the UK and it has always been very well received.

Hope to see you all next week for the ultra exciting Chairs evening which I’m sure you’ve been looking forward to in anticipation since the start of the season.

Stay safe

Mike
