The club was well represented at Richard Ryder’s funeral on Friday. The church was full to overflowing and heard many tributes to Richard’s warmth of character, charm, helpfulness, professionalism and humour, as the large congregation paid their respects. A very fine person who will be missed greatly. RIP.

Richard’s family have suggested that any donations in his memory should go to the British Heart Foundation. You may prefer to donate individually but we will be inviting contributions to a donation from the club. Details will follow shortly.

On Thursday, our speaker was Linda Bembridge FRPS who wowed us last year with her panels created from a single starting image and then hand-finished. This year, she updated the presentation, which was just as fascinating and impressive as before and very different from our more traditional fare.

This coming Thursday (21st) we will be back at Tangmere for the third and final round of the Club/Intermediate PDI competition, when our judge will be professional photographer Andrew Mills MA, who also teaches photography to degree level.

We came third in the SCPF Print League, behind New Forest and Basingstoke. Better still, we were second in today’s SCPF Championship, which was won by Southampton. Jim Munday and Ann McDonald scored maximums, Julia Wainwright and Peter Rocchiccioli won silver medals and Ann took the gold medal for the best print in the competition, out of 315 entries. More about this on Thursday but congratulations in the meantime on these excellent results against some impressive competition.

The Developers’ Group will meet on Monday 18th and the RPS Group on Tuesday. More on both those below.
