Weekly update

Thursday’s presentation by Roger Hance FRPS, DPAGB was truly outstanding. Roger holds a remarkable 4 Fellowships of the RPS, in Portrait, Applied, Pictorial and Natural History and he covered all four genres, with an emphasis on Natural History. His photography was excellent of course and was embellished with lots of information and advice on how the images were created, all wrapped up in an amusing, modest and very fluent presentational style. An excellent evening! One of his portraits is featured.

Congratulations to Ann McDonald and George Atkins, who won awards recently from the United Photographic Portfolios of Great Britain. Ann’s print ‘Nutcracker Fight’ was Highly Commended and George’s ‘The Duel’ was judged the Best Entry in the PDI category. Well done both!

John Howes is about to order some Nomad print boxes (the type used by the Club) and has offered to add other people’s orders to his own, to reduce the delivery cost. If you send your orders to me at mailto.chair@chichestercameraclub.org.uk, I will pass them on.

The Digital Imaging Group will be meeting at Tangmere at 19:15 for 19:30 on Tuesday 26th September – see below for more information. Importantly, there will be a demonstration of how to resize images for Club competitions and how to submit them through PhotoComp, which will be particularly relevant for new members wishing to compete.

As a reminder, the deadline for entries for the first Club/Inter PDI competition has been extended to 5th October. Entries for the first round of the Advanced PDI league are due a week later.
