Waverley House and Abbey Visit

Summer Evening Visit to Waverley Abbey House and Waverley Abbey Ruins

I can arrange a visit to the above if members wish. The date I am considering is Thursday June 1st but the date can be changed if the 1st not suitable.

Waverley Abbey House is a privately owned mansion house on the banks of the River Wey and opposite Waverley Abbey Ruins, in a beautiful setting, just outside Farnham.  Waverley Abbey House is privately owned and is open for functions, and also on a couple of days a year for public viewing.  Waverley Abbey Ruins are owned by English Heritage and are open in daylight hours.

I can arrange for the House to be opened for us on the evening of Thursday1st June for a guided tour followed by a finger buffet, with tea/coffee and soft drinks.  The event will start at 6.30 pm and there will be ample opportunity for photography, both in the house and grounds.  Those people who can make it for 6 pm will have the opportunity of taking photos in the grounds and may cross the bridge across the river to wander round the Ruins.  There will be time to do this again, of course, after the tour/buffet in the House.  If it’s a nice day the setting will look stunning in the evening light – let’s pray for good weather!

The cost for this will be £14 per head, and Waverley Abbey House are able to cater for approximately 30 people.
