Last Print Group of the Season – 10 May 22

The last Print Group meeting of the season will take place at the Tangmere Village Centre small hall on Tuesday 10 May 2022 starting at 7.30pm. If you are planning to enter prints into the Annual Exhibition this is an ideal opportunity to get feedback on them before the entry deadline on 19 May. Or of course just bring your prints whether they be work in progress or the finished article for sharing, discussion and feedback.

It would be helpful if one or two of you could arrive early to help setup the display boards and set out the chairs.

Print Group Meeting – 8 February 2022

The next Print Group meeting will take place online on Tuesday 8 February 2022 starting at 7.30pm.  An opportunity for you to share your prints whether they be work in progress or the finished article for sharing, discussion and feedback.

The group meets to consider how to get the best out of your digital files.  You are welcome to submit a maximum of three images for sharing and discussion, following the guidance below, but you are welcome to join us if you don’t wish to send images in too.

Please note that you should now use printgroup@chichestercameraclub.org.uk for mailing all images not the personal email addresses you used before.

Resize images to 1600 x 1200 pixels, maximum 2MB. You can find resizing guidance on the Club website at https://chichestercameraclub.org.uk/pdi-image-re-sizing/

Please title your images (embedded in the file please, not as an email list) with your name then either the title or other identifier, such as file number ie Joe Bloggs On the Way Up or Joe Bloggs no1. (Titles aren’t necessary for either print Group or the RPS Group meetings.)

Print Group

At this month’s Print Group Lorna Brown will be showing how various papers can make a fundamental difference to the effect and look of an image.  Allied to this the choice of mount to set off  the image is also crucial.

Do also bring along you own prints for review.

As usual we will meet in the small hall at Tangmere.

Print group Meetings – your Views

As you know it has been decided to continue Club Thursday meetings via Zoom up to Christmas, a decision made in response to Members’ preferences. Zoom has certainly been a great way for our programme to carry on during these weird times and some of our interests have been at least as well served this way as in physical meetings.

However, the Print Group by it’s very nature means we really need to see the physical prints – prints are just different to PDIs and although we’ve coped on Zoom it is no substitute for the real thing.

As the group meets in the small hall, is limited in the numbers attending so space is not restricted and the hall can be easily ventilated, I am happy to run the meetings physically as I believe this is the more productive course for this group if members agree.

Before I confirm that however I do need to know how members feel – both those who have been regular attenders over past year but also those who might be thinking of entering print competitions or just enjoy the printing process.

Please let me know using printgroup@chichestercameraclub.org.uk

Print Group – 13th October

The Print Group meets again on Tuesday 13th October in the small hall at Tangmere Village Centre at 7.30pm  All are welcome – including non-members.  Bring along your work in progress, new work, old work, images you’re pleased with and those you don’t think are quite right for friendly and constructive group comment. No need to mount pictures or produce full size, but stuck to card just to give some support is useful.  If you’d like to just sit in and watch what happens at these meetings you’ll also be very welcome.
