SCPF – Roll of Honour
In 2004 the Southern Counties Photographic Federation introduced the Roll of Honour, in a bid to recognise that the popularity of camera clubs throughout the country, and indeed the world owes, a lot to the band of volunteers who arrange meetings and manage the clubs, from refreshment providers through to Chairmen.
Andy Dulson
Andy is not one of those people whose help is necessarily very visible, rather he is a quiet, behind the scenes person. He took on the role of Print Competition Secretary when print competitions became possible again in 2022 after the pandemic, but before that, had long been a support and back up to our PDI Competition Secretary. He has been an active volunteer in the running of our three exhibitions over the course of the years which involves processing prints. He also helps in assisting with our ‘Strong Arm Gang’, the folk who collect up, deliver and setup, and indeed dismantle and return, all the equipment we need for the Annual, Spring and North Mundham exhibitions.
He was also instrumental in advising, when the hall we meet at installed improved audio equipment and can often be seen fitting our visiting presenters with the microphone and making the necessary adjustments. Andy’s technical knowledge is often a benefit to the Club, perhaps most critically when he took on the task of setting up a program to produce the catalogue for the Annual Exhibition, replacing the less efficient software we had been using. He has also undertaken the production of the catalogue since 2019, a task that requires careful data management that changes over the judging and selection processes; ensuring every exhibitor has an image included; that the sponsors’ entries are properly entered and printed and overseeing the print run and timely delivery. Andy also helps run our Special Interest Portrait Group, which meets on an ad hoc basis not just for studio portrait sessions but for event and street photography as well.
A well deserved award Andy – Thank you for all you do.
