SCPF Print & PDI Championships
On Sunday 23rd March, New Forest Camera Club will be hosting the SCPF Print & PDI Championships and all our members are invited to attend. The top two clubs in each category will go on to represent the SCPF at the PAGB Inter-Federation Championships in Warwick (PDIs) and Blackburn. There are individual medals to be won for the best image and the three judges’ choices in each category.
The featured image above is Boatman and Branch © Ann McDonald, which won the Gold Medal for the best print in last year’s Championships.
Anyone wishing to go should take note of the details below sent by Suzie Kirkby, the Championships Secretary.
A final reminder that next weekend your club’s members are invited to the flagship competition of the SCPF season. This year it’s hosted by New Forest CC at Colbury Memorial Hall, 133 Main Rd, Totton, Southampton SO40 7EL (W3W: ///ally.asset.choppers). The entrance is on the left, only 50m after the pelican crossing off the southern exit of the A35/A326 roundabout. Parking at the venue is limited so you might be instructed to park on one of the surrounding roads; Whartons Lane (///libraries.zips.firepower) or Knellers Lane (///boots.dorms.juniors). Allow extra time for your journey especially if you are bringing prints that need to be registered by 10:30.
Doors open at 10am with proceedings starting promptly at 10:30. PDIs are judged first and Prints in the afternoon from 2pm. We should finish around 5pm after the presentation of awards.
Our three judges are:
- Martin Fry FRPS FBPE EFIAP/d3 AV-EFIAP/b APAGB
- Sandie Cox ARPS DPAGB EFIAP
- Pat Couder CPAGB BPE1* QPSA
There is no admission charge for SCPF affiliated clubs’ members. Teas/coffees will be available and there is to be a raffle. A packed lunch is recommended but there are facilities and a convenience store a mile to the south-west in Ashurst; please check online. For our further flung and offshore clubs we intend to stream the event live from the SCPF’s YouTube channel (bandwidth permitting): https://www.youtube.com/@SCPF-2024.
578 PDIs and 281 Prints have been entered creating a feast of superb photography. The host club, Council members and many others always put in a great deal of work to make this a success so do join us.
