PAGB GROUP ROUND-UP OF THE YEAR

The Group had its last meeting of the 2022-2023 season on Monday last and our next meeting will be on Monday 2nd October.

The Group has continued in good health this year. Our members have had some considerable successes, with eight distinctions awarded to group members overall. Several of our members were awarded not one but two distinctions.

  • Chris Gledhill was awarded two distinctions, a DPAGB and also an EFIAP/gold
  • George Atkins was awarded two distinctions, a DPAGB and also an EFIAP/bronze
  • Richard Ryder was also awarded two distinctions, a CPAGB and also an AFIAP
  • Jim Munday was awarded an EFIAP/silver
  • Ann McDonald was awarded an EFIAP/platinum

In addition, several of our members received numerous acceptances and awards in International Salons of Photography in the UK and across the globe. We hope to build on these successes in the coming year.

Once again, I would like to thank my able assistant, Pete Bamforth for his insightful comments on image improvement. I would also like to thank all of the group members for their support during the year and I look forward to seeing you all at the group on 2nd October.

The good news from the PAGB is that they have announced two new distinctions, an entry level distinction, the BPAGB and also a distinction at a level between the DPAGB and the MPAGB called the EPAGB. I’m very excited about the new BPAGB distinction as it is something that club members in the Intermediate class can work towards. I’m hoping that when the new season starts, we will have some members working towards a BPAGB. Those interested in finding out more about these new awards can find information here.
