Request for Images – Arun Valley Line Community Rail Partnership

The Club has been approached by the Economic Development Officer at Horsham District Council with a request for assistance, as follows:

“Rowena Tyler co-ordinates the Arun Valley Line Community Rail Partnership (CRP) and has been tasked with re-designing and re-publishing the Arun Valley Line Guide. 10,000 copies of the Line Guide will be printed in the Spring and distributed to stations up and down the Arun Valley Line.  As a not for profit organisation, the CRP must get best value and as a contribution, Horsham District Council has offered to design the publication free of charge.

Rowena is seeking a beautiful photo for the new front cover and I wondered if Chichester Camera Club colleagues might want to donate one of their stunning photos.  Rowena would be able to credit the artist in the Line Guide.  The photo would need to highlight one of the stunning attractions/views accessible along the Arun Valley Line, which covers stations from Bosham, Bognor and Littlehampton up to Gatwick Airport, via Arundel.

The formal deadline for submissions is 22 January but bearing in mind the late timescale of this request, the deadline has been extended until 29 January 2018.”

The technical requirements are as follows:

A high-resolution JPG or TIF file that is 300dpi. File size should be no smaller than 1MB. Preference will be given to portrait format images on the cover, although the designers may be able to achieve a desirable crop with the right landscape image.
