Digital Group Meeting September 27th 2022

The first meeting of the Digital Group will be at 7:30 on Tuesday 27th in the small hall. The Digital Group aims to help everyone get the best out of their photography through explaining all aspects of digital image processing. In recent years we have seen huge advances in software both in traditional Adobe products like Lightroom and Photoshop, but also alternatives such as Affinity Photo and Capture One. When first faced with using some of these products it can be quite daunting, which is why having a help group is so valuable. There is a huge range of skills within the club and sharing knowledge is so valuable.

We will start with an introduction to the group and its aims, then to help new members and members unfamiliar with entering competitions we shall be explaining how to correctly size images for competitions and how to upload them.

In the second half we shall introduce a low cost, but powerful an alternative to Lightroom and Photoshop, namely using Darktable and Affinity Photo.

We are looking to design a programme for the year that covers what members want to learn about, so please come to the meeting and tell us what you want covered in future meetings.
