Chair

Many thanks for joining me last night at my Chair’s evening. I thoroughly enjoyed putting together the slide show about the Isle of Wight and in doing so learnt a lot more myself about the Island. I sincerely hope you all enjoyed it as well.

Prints are the core of club work and we need enough to justify a competition and asking a judge to travel to Tangmere. As at the closing date for the 1st Club/Inter print competition we didn’t have what is felt were sufficient prints so have moved the closing date for entries to the 17th. So please will all Club and Intermediate members make an effort to input prints in the next week.

Having now tested the equipment at Tangmere successfully, on the 17th we will be holding our first attempt at a Hybrid meeting which will be for the 1st advanced print competition. This means that we will be meeting at Tangmere and broadcasting the meeting via zoom for those who do not feel comfortable in attending. Due to the extra tables required for the equipment and maintaining a sensible distance between chairs, I believe that we will have to limit the number of attendees to a maximum of 40. The following precautions will be in place and some are based on trust.

Please do not attend at Tangmere if you are not fully vaccinated as the programme will also be broadcast on Zoom.

Please take a Lateral Flow test on the day of the meeting and if it is positive do not attend.

Please keep a sensible distance apart at all times if you attend.

Please bring your own refreshments as the kitchen will not be open during the meeting.

Please bring warm clothing as the outer doors may be opened at regular intervals for ventilation purposes.

It would be preferred if masks are worn but this is not compulsory, however it would be a requirement to wear one when moving around the hall.

As long as we are all careful and mindful of others I believe this is the right course of action to take at this time. It is hoped that we will be fully open for our 10th March meeting but as always the club will adhere to the current guidelines of the day.

Take care as we are nearly there.

Mike

This is great news! Would it be prudent to get a rough idea of how many might attend? I’d hate to drive over and discover I was the 41st person! Cheers. Madeleine
