Weekly Update
Special Interest Groups – Please note there will be no Developers’ or Print and Presentation Groups in May. PAGB will be running tomorrow evening – see post below.
Annual Exhibition – We hope that you are busy preparing your panels for our annual exhibition – everyone is guaranteed to have at least one image in the exhibition. Please re check all the information about submitting your images. A quick reminder of some points: you will need to upload digital copies of your print entries, exactly as you do for print competitions. This creates a database for processing the prints through the various stages to the publication of the catalogue when a number of the images will also be used in the printing – hence the requirement they are 300 dpi. Separately you can also enter the PDI section, with different images from those you enter for the print section, just as you can’t enter the same image in the print and PDI competitions. These will then be used for projecting on the tv, and some for inclusion in the catalogues, again hence the requirement for 300dpi. Please remember no more than 26 characters maximum per title for each print. Final date for submission is Thursday 22nd May.
On Thursday Daniel Bridges gave an excellent and entertaining presentation. His main area of interest is teaching and education, mostly via workshops in many different genres and also with one to one tuition. His talk centred on his wide portfolio and its subject matter ranging from landscape to macro and from portraits to wildlife, which is his main passion. He used his images to illustrate points of photographic technique often filling in with anecdotes or a back story relating to the pictures.
