Weekly update
Summer is now officially over but fortunately no-one has told the weather and we can enjoy warm sunshine for a few days more. Our new season starts on Thursday and I look forward to seeing you all at Tangmere. The meeting will start at 7:30pm as usual but please get there a few minutes early to help with setting up and to buy lots of raffle tickets. Our speaker is Chris Palmer FRPS (pictured), who will also be judging our Print Panel Competition in April.
Last Thursday, our 13 new and 5 prospective members were welcomed at Tangmere by their mentors and the Management Committee. Another 6 couldn’t attend but seem likely to join. The evening was very well received and a really encouraging enthusiasm was evident. The newcomers have widely varied experience, ranging from complete beginners to professionals. It augurs well for the coming year!
As well as being our first meeting of the new season, 7th September is also the deadline for entries for the SCPF print and PDI inter-club leagues and for the PAGB Club Print annual competition. Please see the note below from Peter Rocchiccioli.
David Jenner will be talking to us on 2nd November about ‘Night and Day Panoramas’. Two days later, he will be running a workshop at Bedgebury Pinetum, to capture autumn colours in the early morning light, starting at 6am. Details from http://www.davidjenner.co.uk
