Weekly update
This week’s Newsletter is a bumper edition, with so much going on.
Last night was the final round of the Club/Intermediate PDI league competition, which was judged by Mike Cullis. Mike is new to the area, having moved recently from Pembrokeshire. He did a great job in explaining his scoring and helpfully suggesting ways in which images could be improved. John Strickland topped the Club league and Nikki Holden won the Intermediate section. Many congratulations to both. One of Nikki’s images is featured.
Last night was also the final round of the SCPF PDI league. Jim Munday topped our scoring with 9.5 but our overall result after 8 rounds means we will drop to Division 2 of the league. So we have a clear target to win Division 2 next season! Let’s hope for a good result in the SCPF Championships on Sunday.
The large hall at Tangmere will not be available for our meeting on May 18th (3rd Club/Inter prints), so we will be using the small hall and may need to restrict numbers. We had considered moving the meeting to June 1st but May 18th is also the deadline for Annual Exhibition prints, so it is more practical to meet on that date.
Some reminders: photowalk tomorrow (Saturday) on the Elizabeth line; Developers’ Group on Monday and Digital Group on Tuesday. The excellent exhibition of work by the Focus Group continues at the Oxmarket until 2nd April. The Spring Exhibition of work by Club and Intermediate members will be held at Tangmere on 1st and 2nd April. Please encourage your friends to attend. The deadline for the 3rd Advanced print competition is 6th April.
