The Epsom Camera Club Invitation Challenge
On Monday Epsom Camera Club hosted their annual Invitation Challenge competition. This is an inter-club competition that has been running for many years between Epsom CC and four invited clubs. Previously this was a print and PDI competition, held at the Epsom CC venue, but since Covid it has become PDI-only, taking place over Zoom.
We won this competition last year so were invited back. The other three invited clubs this year were:
- Godalming Photographic Club
- Maidstone Camera Club
- Tandridge Photographic Society
The judge for the evening was Naomi Saul ARPS ASINWP DPAGB EFIAP APAGB BPE4*.
The Selection Committee selected ten PDIs from ten different photographers for our entry this year.
It was a close match but Epsom were victorious with 90.5 points while we were joint runners-up with Maidstone on 88.5 points. Our top scoring images were “Lamara Distin” by Andy Dulson which scored 10 and “Porth Nanven” by Andy Bracey which scored 9.5.
As we have taken part for two years running we won’t be invited back next year but will stay on Epsom’s list of clubs to be invited in future years.
