Sue’s Update
Yesterday evening, we warmly welcomed new judge on the circuit, Guy Turner to CCC to judge the 1st Club and Intermediate Print Competitions. Although there was a little sound issue in the first half our techies addressed this and Guy continued with his helpful comments on the prints. If you missed the comments regarding your print in the first half please contact us at enquiries@chichestercameraclub.org.uk and Paul Adams (Developers’ Group) and I will try to fill in the gaps. Having emphasised that it is the comments not the scores that help us improve we felt we needed to address this. However, for those of you who achieved scores of 9.5 and 10 – Well done. There were some stunning prints. Guy was really helpful and demonstrated that judges not only look at the technical bits – sharpness/softness, verticals, saturation and brightness – but also what feelings the print evokes along with what is the story behind it – what are we being asked to focus on. Having a title that facilitates this also helps. Things that are frequently discussed in the Developers and Print groups.
