Chair update
Thursdays’s presentation was a brilliant and inspiring talk by Tom Peck on photographing architecture – from the sharp, straight and angular to curves, in both colour and mono. As well as showing his stunning images, Tom discussed ‘the how’ and even included those he was less happy with, explained why not and was honest about the ones judges hadn’t liked, while emphasising that the most important thing is for the photographer to like it. Tom’s website is very informative and he also runs workshops.
For those of you who didn’t see Caroline Preece’s excellent talk on ‘Tools not Rules’ last season, she will be presenting it again at Bognor Regis CC’s meeting on Tuesday 8th November. See https://bognorregiscameraclub.org.
The SCPF inter-club league is underway and Chichester did particularly well in the first round of the print competition, topping the leader board. Congratulations to Jim Munday for a 10 and 9.5, to George Atkins for a 10 and to Ann McDonald for a 9. Round 2 was a little less successful but we are currently lying second, behind Winchester, with 6 rounds remaining. We will be hosting the first round of the PDI league at Tangmere next week, on the 10th of November.
The FIAP Photo Academy advise that their next online presentation will be ‘The fine art of nature’ by Chris Fallows at 7pm on Friday 18th November. Registration is mandatory – at https://bit.ly/3gk5err.
Reminders: The deadline for entries for the 1st Club/Intermediate print competition is 10th November. For the next round of the Small Print competition, it is 24th November.
