Camera Craft SIG
The first Camera Craft session will be on October 28. This Special Interest Group focuses on the fundamental skill in photography: how to take successful images. We aim to inspire and encourage members to develop their own technique and vision, and our sessions are open to all members: whatever experience, whatever type of camera.
Different types of photography require different approaches, techniques and, possibly, kit, so over the season we will look at a variety of styles. We start with what many of us do, albeit unwittingly: street photography. Don’t think grim and grimy. Think holidays. Think sunlit side-streets of Santorini or the boulevards of Paris. It can encompass architecture, markets, night-time long exposures, people in all sorts of situations, and the urban landscape. Black, white, colour.
We will look at some of today’s best street photographers; consider compositional issues, discuss camera settings, and hear from two of our own members about their experiences and top tips. BRING YOUR CAMERA(s) and manual because there will be time to play and practise as well as socialise.
Look forward to seeing you there.
