John Howes has had only one volunteer so far to assist with the exhibition set up. He needs strong arms to collect the exhibition stands on Thursday 11th August, and on Friday 12th from 8.45 at the Assembly Room, as well as help with taking down the following Saturday. Please call John on 07855 435580 to offer assistance.
David Harris is volunteering with the Rowans Hospice and working with them on a whole range of photographic projects. This includes sourcing images for the wall of a new building. For that, the hospice is looking for suitable images of well-known places in their catchment area (South East Hampshire – west to Gosport/Fareham and north to Liss) to create large (3×4 feet) display pictures.
David wonders if Club members might have great images of South East Hampshire landmarks, such as the Spinnaker Tower, that they would be interested in sending in for the team to consider. The expectation would be that the selected images would be printed professionally by the Rowans and displayed with the author’s accreditation. They need lots to choose from but will select just a few.
If you have any suitable images, could you send David a jpeg file in the first instance with your name in the filename, which he will forward? You can find David’s email address in the documents section of the website within the Members only pages.
There are still a few gaps in the Stewarding Rota for the Annual Exhibition, especially Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th August. Please contact Lorna Brown if you are able to help on those days.
John Howes also needs strong arms to help collect and set up the exhibition stands, collecting them on Thursday 11th August and setting up on Friday 12th, as well as taking down on the following Saturday. Please call John on 07855 435580 if you can assist.
#CreativeFriday – Face Aware Liquify – Photoshop 2015.5
You may have seen the great new Face Aware Liquify feature in the last update to Photoshop CC. It’s a wonderful tool, and designed to help with your image manipulation around the face and remove the complexities that existed around working with faces previsouly.
I’m sorry to say that Mike Davison is in hospital following a heart attack . Mike was unwell but only went to his doctor some days after the event and was promptly sent off to Worthing Hospital. He had hoped to come home before bypass surgery in Brighton, but things are a little more serious than first thought so is having to wait in hospital for his transfer.
He would be very pleased to have brief emails from fellow Club Members, but prefers not to have cards – not least as he will be on the move.
Members who don’t have Mike’s email address already can find it by logging in to the Members’ area of the website where you will find it in the ‘Useful phone numbers and email addresses’ in Important Documents under the Documents flag.
I know we all wish him and Linda well and a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him at the Exhibition Opening which he has promised to be at.
