Our own Stephen Tattershall has an exhibition entitled African Safari and some other members, including Stephen Marsh and Kim Tattershall have images in the Photographic Competition / Exhibition. Both run from 1st-13th September.
We had 6 participants, Jan Davis, Andy Dulson, Jeff and Lynne Owen, Mem Baybars and Dave Abbott in the Photosprint. We met up at Eastgate Square and were given the theme “Colour” one hour later we down loaded the images at the “Four Chesnuts” pub and viewed the results on their TV. The judging was performed by artist Ghislaine Davis.
The winner was Mem Baybars
The runner up was Jeff Owen
And third prize was Andy Dulson
Highly Commended was the image by Dave Abbott
The evening ended with a constructive analysis of all the images and a discussion how photographers would judge images differently than artists.
Saturday 14 March: The Funky Junction photo-shoot was held between 1-3 pm at Alexandra Theatre in Bognor in the Studio Room. This is a local band and the event gave an opportunity to photograph against a background of smoke and using stage lighting. Twelve club members joined the shoot organised by Ronnie Hall and all participants enjoyed the session and the band was happy with the images they got.
The Print Group meets again on Tuesday 13th October in the small hall at Tangmere Village Centre at 7.30pm All are welcome – including non-members. Bring along your work in progress, new work, old work, images you’re pleased with and those you don’t think are quite right for friendly and constructive group comment. No need to mount pictures or produce full size, but stuck to card just to give some support is useful. If you’d like to just sit in and watch what happens at these meetings you’ll also be very welcome.
