Annual Exhibition 2024 – dates and deadlines

With both the North Mundham and Spring Exhibitions behind us it’s time to turn to the Annual Exhibition. This takes place, as always, in the Assembly Room in North Street, Chichester and runs from Saturday 3rd August to the following Saturday (closed on Sunday 4th August).

That might seems a long way off, and you might wonder why the deadline for entry is the 16th May, such a long time before the opening. In fact the exhibition team has already started work on the complex planning and organisation of the event, and once the submissions are in there is a long process as they are sorted, judged, prints selected and print entry placing arranged. Even then there is the period to complete the work on the Exhibition Catalogue and get that off to print.

We will keep you informed about the various stages as we work our way through, but for now the key date is the deadline for both PDI and Print entries is Thursday 16th May. It happens there is no Club meeting at Tangmere that evening, only a zoom meeting, so it will be best if you can get your print entries in the week before, but if you can’t there will be drop-off points you can deliver to. We’ll let you know those nearer the time.

The guidance gives a good outline of the exhibition and includes all the key dates, including the judging – this year with Sue Sibley (ARPS, DPAGB, EFIAP/^s, BEP5*) – Members’ Pre-exhibition Meeting and Preview Evening, and what is expected of you as an exhibitor. Do please read it – if you have any questions you’ll find plenty of help available.

The exhibition is one of the most highly regarded in the South East and attracts many hundreds of visitors and so offers an exciting opportunity to show your work to a wide audience. We will of course be looking for lots of volunteers to help get publicity materials out, steward the event each day, provide cakes and help run the catering etc. But first of course we need your entries so please don’t hesitate about putting work in.
