Our guest speaker, David Boag, delivered another fascinating Thursday evening presentation. A professional wildlife photographer, author and lecturer with a career spanning more than 40 years, David offered a refreshingly different perspective on how wildlife photography—and the lives of professional wildlife photographers—has evolved since he began his journey in the 1970s.
Last week, our speaker Nick Dungan generously donated his fee to Jackie Stewart’s Race Against Dementia charity. Together with the £55 collected on the night, this brings the total donation to £155. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
Tuesday evening’s Camera Craft Special Interest Group, presented by Chris Worsley, was very well attended. It was especially good to welcome new members and have the chance to put faces to names. Many thanks to Phil Shaw for smoothly managing the technical side of the evening, leaving Chris and Angela free to guide us through their slides.
The website is now open for Advanced members to register their PDIs for the first Advanced Print Competition. Entries close at 23:59 on Thursday 8th October. The print-entry box will be available on the following evenings:
- Thursday 1st October — Suzie Kirby will present her talk, “Print on Paper”.
- Tuesday 5th October — the PAGB Special Interest Group evening.
- Thursday 8th October — Glyn Paton will visit us to judge the first Advanced PDI competition.

A “Fungi, Woodland & Wildlife” workshop, presented by John Dominick, will take place at Pulborough Brooks, Wiggonholt, Pulborough, West Sussex, RH20 2EL, on Friday 2nd October from 10:30 to 15:30.
