Monday 5th October, 19:00–21:30
Come along to the PAGB Special Interest Group evening for a friendly and informative look at the standard of images needed for the available accreditations. You will enjoy a selection of striking images, pick up practical tips on the small adjustments that can make a real difference, and learn how the right choice of paper can help produce an excellent print.
Thursday 8th October
We are pleased to welcome Glyn Paton, who will judge our first Advanced PDI Competition.
Club Night: Thursday 1st October
We were delighted to welcome guest speaker Suzie Kirby for her talk, “Print on Paper”. Suzie is President of the SCPF for the 2026–27 season, a member of Basingstoke Camera Club, and a photography judge. She gave us a fascinating introduction to photojournalism and shared the choices she has faced when balancing her own photographic style with the requirements of images intended for newspaper publication.
Resizing Images for Competitions
If you are new to competitions, resizing images can sometimes feel a little daunting—but help is at hand. We are hoping to organise a friendly, step-by-step Zoom webinar for anyone who would like a little extra guidance and confidence.
SIG Camera Craft Photowalk: Chichester, Saturday 17th October
Our next activity is a Composition Challenge photowalk around Chichester—a relaxed and enjoyable chance to experiment with composition. Smartphone cameras are ideal, although you are very welcome to bring another camera if you prefer. It is also a lovely opportunity to catch up with fellow club members, share ideas, and enjoy taking photographs together.
- Challenge levels: If you are new to composition, start with our introductory challenge. If you already have some experience, have a go at one of the suggested alternative approaches.
- Meeting time and place: We will meet at 14:00 on Saturday 17th October at the Boston Tea Party café, Baffins Lane (off East Street).
- Before the walk: We will begin with coffee and a short introductory chat.
- During the walk: We will take photographs around Chichester city centre, and you are free to choose whichever locations feel most comfortable and inspiring.
- Final meet-up: We will return to the same café at 15:30. If you would like to, you can share your favourite photograph from the afternoon with the group.
