RPS & Projects Group – Tuesday 17th November
Our group meeting in October was a lively affair with well developed potential submissions for a Licentiate and an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, both rather in limbo as the RPS gets its distinctions house in order, but both to an excellent standard of work and a pleasure to see.
We also saw my LRPS panel, now 12 years old (would it pass muster these days we wondered?) and Jonathan Fiske brought along some new work demonstrating the effects of different papers on prints.
John Bradshaw outlined his projects into the Industrial and Agricultural Revolutions that took him many years and many miles travelling to find the remaining examples he needed. He brought along some work from both projects that he had exhibited at the Focus Exhibitions, the scale of the work was such it took two year’s exhibitions to show.
Lynne Owen gave us an insight into the creative potential of Toy Cameras, and the Toy Camera Challenge for North Mundham. Here’s the raw material (that’s raw not RAW), in reality an instant print about 3.5 by 2 inches – what tricks might you be able to perform with the camera or the print to include in the special North Mundham display space?

In November as well as continuing support for RPS distinctions we’ll be looking at my small project on Industrial Remains, very much more contained than John’s extensive work, put together for North Mundham but based on my ongoing love of now desolate places that were once hives of industry.
We’ll also be starting a potential AV project about our very own Annual Exhibition with prints by Nikki Holden and story boarding. Come and join us, with some work if you’re ready or just to see what we do.
