North Mundham – two challenges

North Mundham is the first of three exhibitions we hold over the year, all of which are all-club events although only Advanced workers exhibit there, with Intermediate and Club members showing at the Spring Exhibition on 3rd and 4th April at Tangmere. It might seem early to be thinking about North Mundham, which falls on the 6th and 7th February 2027 but we have a significant problem that needs solving.

After a good few years running our day time catering, Sarah Nichol has now stepped down and we really need someone to take over. The basic task is to organise the volunteers, encourage the donations of cakes and oversee the simple lunches, chilli, soup, ploughmans and the like. This long established key component of the NM Exhibition not only generates additional funds that help with the costs of the Annual Exhibition, but the ‘cafe’ is an important social gathering place for members and our many visitors to sit and chat, in many ways the heart of the weekend.

It would be ideal for two people working together, and there are always a good number of volunteers to help out, but someone, or two splitting the tasks of overall co-ordination is necessary. If you think you might be able to help contact either me or Sarah – who will also help with advice – via rpsgroup@chichestercameraclub.org.uk

The other challenge is more cheery! Some of us were intrigued by very creative images from Janey Devine that has been made with a toy camera – a sort of sub-polaroid that makes instant prints – and this year we’re challenging you to see what weird and wonderful images you can make with toy cameras. We’ll hold a special area to show these, so they will be in addition to your general NM screen(s). There are no prizes, no rules and no instructions – other than please note any of you who are in Advanced PDI but not Advanced Prints – this is open to you as well. See what you can do!
