Weekly update
Best wishes to everyone for 2024.
Benjamin Graham got the new year off to a great start at our first meeting on Thursday, where we had a good turnout in spite of the heavy rain and widespread flooding. Chichester resident Benjamin specialises in landscapes and seascapes, with a bit of urban for good measure. As well as illustrating why he has won Landscape Photographer of the Year and been shortlisted several time for Outdoor POTY, his presentation drew on his experience of teaching creative composition at West Dean College. All his images were taken in the UK, with our local coast featuring prominently. He concluded with a quiz – spot the generative AI image. The audience got them right but it showed the strides being made by the technology. A good evening.
The SCPF Exhibition opens today and runs until 27th January at the Young Gallery in Salisbury and is well worth a visit. Glyn Edmunds was highly commended in the monochrome section – well done Glyn. Overall, CCC was third in the PDI competition; Peter Rocchiccioli is pictured receiving the Certificate from Anne Eckersley, President of the SCPF.
The PAGB Group will meet on Monday 8th January (more detail below). The Print Group will meet at Tangmere on Tuesday 9th at 7:15 for 7:30. As well as advice on improving the prints you bring along, there will be a very informative video on printing.
Please note that next Thursday (Jan 11th), we will be hosting the latest round of the SCPF Inter-Club PDI League, which will be held by Zoom, so there will be no meeting at Tangmere.
The deadline for the 2nd Advanced print competition is 25th January. Boxes will also be available on the 18th.
