Annual Exhibition 2024 – a Great Success

The Annual Exhibition has finished for another year but it is worth taking a moment to reflect on some of the highlights.

  • Over the seven days we had 1754 visitors – this has increased year on year.
  • ALL the catalogues were sold.
  • We had 18 requests for prints from the exhibition.
  • Several visitors expressed interest in joining the club.
  • Refreshments, as always did very well, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
  • The images were of the highest standard as commented by many of the visitors
  • Our MP visited and put it on her social media.

As in previous years, we gave our visitors a challenge asking them to pick a favourite print. The voting for our Annual Exhibition visitors’ favourite print 2024, was closely contested. In third place we had Clifford Thomas “Nice Place to Rest”, in second place was Julia Wainwright FRPS “March of the King Penguins”, this year’s winner, who wins a £40 book token, is Jim Munday’s EFIAP/g “Sparrowhawk with Starling”. Congratulations to Jim. Our lucky visitor voting slip will be picked from all the 1059 votes, by our guest, Paul Mitchell, on September 5th our first club night of the 2024/2025 season. The lucky winner will also receive a £40 book token.

Annual Exhibition Secretary, Peter Farrelly says, ‘It was a lot of work by a lot of people, but well worth the time, effort and commitment to ensure the exhibition was a success. So, a big THANK YOU to all the exhibitors, stewards, caterers, publicists, planners, Selection Committee members, heavy mob and everyone else who contributed.’ A huge THANK YOU to you too, Peter for taking on this role – you did us proud.
