PAGB Inter-Club PDI Championship 2026
Following our results at the SCPF PDI Championship earlier this year, Chichester were one of three clubs chosen to represent the Federation at the PAGB PDI Championship, the other two clubs being Newbury and Winchester. With three clubs per Federation, the number of competing clubs had increased to 48 this year. Sadly an administrative error meant that Winchester were unable to compete.
On Sunday 19th July, eight of us travelled up to Warwick – four Selection Committee members to take part in the competition and four others who were there to observe the proceedings and cheer us on.
The three judges at this event were:

The morning was taken up by the two qualifying rounds to determine which competition we would be competing in during the afternoon session, with each club selecting eight PDIs for each round.
After the scores of both rounds were added together we had scored a total of 177 points – an average of just over 11/15 per image. That put us in 25th place out of 48, one point behind Newbury with both of us competing for the Plate competition in the afternoon.
During the lunch break the Selection Committee members discussed which eight images to use for the Plate given the restrictions in the rules – no more than two images from each member and no more than two nature images.
The Plate was judged straight after the lunch break and our eight images scored a total of 93 points. We then had to wait until after the Final competition was judged, a coffee break and some presentations before the results were announced.
Overall we came 9th in the Plate out of 38 clubs which is a good result, being just six points behind the winner (same as last year). Colchester were 3rd with 97 points, Bridgend 2nd with 98 and the winners of the Plate were Carluke with 99 points. Newbury came 31st with 88 points so it was a good result for the SCPF too.
Our top scoring images were Ann McDonald’s “Waiting for a Bus” which scored 14/15 in the Plate, Ian Roberts’ “Eurasian Hoopoe Feeding Chick” which scored 13/15 in the Plate and Julia Wainwright’s “Golden Eagle Winter Flight” which scored 13/15 in Round 1.
