Chichester Allotments 9th August 6pm

Looking further ahead Rob Campling is organising a trip to Chichester allotments. Rob has provided the following information:

Place: St Paul’s/Little Breach Allotments. No post code, but PO19 5UA gets you to the turning off St Paul’s Road that leads to Little Breach. The allotment gate is on the left right after the side road (Woodlands Lane) which leads to two schools. It has City Council notices plastered all over the gate.

Parking: On street parking – usually fairly easy at this time.

Meeting: I’ll be waiting at the gate.

Length of stay: An hour or two.

Wrap Up:  At the Rainbow Inn from 7.30. A  CAMRA pub but no food after c. 7pm

What to see:  It’s a large site with upwards of 60 allotments. Everything from the scrupulously tidy to the abandoned, plus hedgerows, trees and a tame fox. Sheds and greenhouses. A couple of chicken runs as well!  I’ll make sure the visit is publicised by the City Council so everyone will know the the Club are visting.

  • Anyone interested in photographing the “blood moon” on Friday 27th July? Since the moon will rise in the south-east, I’m suggesting going to either Brighton (West Pier), or Cuckmere Haven/Birling Gap, but I’m open to other suggestions.
