I’m delighted to announce that Glyn Edmunds has won a Salon Medal at this year’s London Salon of Photography. Over the years only four Chichester Camera Club members have achieved this rare distinction, Glyn now makes this number up to five! Congratulations!
In addition to his medal Glyn has had two images accepted at the salon, the maximum number from any contributor. This is a terrific achievement in a salon where only a very small number of the submitted images are accepted for exhibition.
Glyn is one of our regular advisors at the PAGB Group and we are all very proud of his achievement.
LONDON SALON SUCCESS FOR PETER ROCCHICCIOLI
In addition to Glyn’s success congratulations are also due to PAGB Group member Peter Rocchiccioliwho had an image accepted at The London Salon. This is Peter’s third time having an acceptance at The London Salon, so well done Peter!
Please follow the link below for more information about The London Salon. The nine medal winning images and all of the accepted images are on the website, including those images from Chichester Camera Club members.
Seven members of the group entered and between them achieved 28 acceptances and three awards. It is a great achievement to gain acceptances and awards in this prestigious FIAP & PSA international Salon.
We were delighted to see Ann McDonald and Sheila Tester both receive awards at the Club meeting on Thursday 21st February – and to have Peter Rocchiccioli present them in his role as President of the Southern Counties Photographic Federation. A very ‘well done’ to both!
Sheila Tester, receiving the SCPF Roll of Honour, by the Federation president Peter Rocchiccioli. A distinction which she very well deserved for the work she has put into Chichester Camera Club over ten years, and before that was a member of Marwell Photographic Group. She has served on Chichester’s Management Committee many times, currently as Southern Counties Federation Representative, and is also an active member of the Selection Committee. Sheila is also of course absolutely vital is the success of our Annual and North Mundham Exhibitions where she is our catering supremo. A very well deserved award to Sheila for all her contributions to club photography.
Ann McDonald won the best portrait individual award at the PAGB GB cup for the open projected images for her Portrait of a Lady, and is shown here receiving the award from by the SCPF President Peter Rocchiccioli. This is a great achievement by Ann as there were only eleven awards given nationally and this was also the only one within the SCPF. Many congratulations to Ann for this splendid recognition.
Once again members of the PAGB Group members have fared very well at the Smethwick International Salon this year. Two Gold Medals were awarded to group members with six members of the group gaining 20 acceptances between them. This is a terrific result in this prestigious salon.
Below is a selection of some of the images that were accepted
I am delighted to announce that three club members had a print accepted in this prestigious exhibition. The selectors were looking for a varied exhibition of the highest quality and members of camera clubs all over the UK were invited to enter, with a maximum of only one print accepted in the exhibition per entrant. Overall only 60 prints were accepted into the exhibition and THREE of those 60 acceptances came from Chichester Camera Club. That is a terrific achievement for our club and we should be justly proud to be represented three times over in this exhibition. Well done Chichester Camera Club!
The exhibition will be on show to the general public at the RK Burt Gallery, 57 Union St, London SE1 1SG from Tuesday 5th Friday 8th December and from Monday 11th until Friday 15th December, from 10am and 4pm each day.
The three club members who had prints accepted were Sheila Tester, Peter Rocchiccioti and Ann McDonald. The prints are reproduced below.
Congratulations to Sheila Tester who was awarded a FIAP Bronze Medal for ‘A Group of Mycena’ in the Welsh International. Sheila had three acceptances in the salon including the image ‘Saint Primus, Slovenia (below)
You may have your prints hand delivered to the organisers by Glyn Edmunds, however you must give them to him by Thursday 26th October at the latest. Thank you Glyn. If you wish you may then have the prints sent on to Southampton for THE SOUTHAMPTON EXHIBITION thereby saving postage both ways.
