Last night – Walking with Polar Bears

So there we were. Huddled together in the dark, listening to the howling wind of the artic screaming through Tangmere Village Hall. In front of us, all is white blizzard. The icy terrain is scoured by gale force winds. Slowly in the distance a shape emerges. Black eyes. The faint form of a body. POLAR BEAR! Largest four footed carnivore on the planet, heading our way. What do we do? Will we make it to the coffee break???
So began Gillian Lloyd’s presentation on Walking with Polar Bears. Fortunately the wind died, the sun came out and we were treated to some glorious images of polar bears, and their cubs, their food, their lifestyle, their country and the animals that share their territory. Gillian has been visiting Canada for over 10 years and is a treasure trove of information and anecdotes. She was a wonderful guide to these majestic of beasts and it was a most enjoyable evening.

Cotswold Mounts set up new webpage for 50 x 40cm mounts
Over the summer months, Cotswold Mounts were working with the PAGB to make ordering mounts and boards easier for their members. Following discussions and some excellent advice from the PAGB they’ve created a dedicated page featuring 50x40cm mounts and boards, one of the most popular sizes requested by Camera Clubs and Photographic Societies. The page is open to everyone, not just PAGB members, and includes a range of additional sizes too. Explore Camera Club & Photographic Society Photo Mounts here.
