Richard Ryder, CPAGB

We have just received the very sad news that Richard Ryder CPAGB died yesterday. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

He was taken ill with heart problems while visiting his mother in Stoke on Trent and admitted to hospital following a stroke on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning he had a cerebral haemorrhage which tragically proved fatal. He is pictured receiving the Simcox Landscape Trophy from Ken Scott at the Annual Exhibition in 2023.

  • Very sad to hear about this. We had a long talk at North Mundham. He was full of plans for the future, now he had finished working on re-wiring the lighting for the Lavant Players future production. A man with many qualities; he will be very much missed.

Such a shock to read the sad news about Richard. Like Phil, Liz and I saw Richard at the North Mundham Exhibition and we talked about his work and the next steps for the RPS South East Documentary Group, which he chaired so well. He was a great friend and always very generous with his advice. Richard will be greatly missed.
