Chair update
Evening all,
Just a quick update for information.
Don’t forget that this Thursday’s meeting is Zoom only with our host David Keep – see details here.
Last week, due to the low print entries, Steve Kirby showed us some of his AV’s, however it transpired that it was a bit disjointed for the zoom viewers. We also learnt that setting up hybrid meetings means a lot of work for our tech guys, who therefore do not get to enjoy the evening particularly well, which is a shame and a little unfair on them.
As all Covid precautions have now been lifted, I said I would consult with the committee with regard to a full opening of the club at Tangmere.
Taking both points above into account, we have reached the decision that the club will fully open at Tangmere for the meeting of March 10th with no zoom. While I am aware that this may not meet with the approval of some of our members, it doe need to be recognised that we have been closed for nearly two years, have lost a few members due to that, not run our exhibitions and not been able to concentrate on our prime objective of prints.
We will of course make every effort to mitigate Covid transference, keep a very close watch on current guidance and potential new variants. WE WILL NOT ENDANGER MEMBERS TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY. Some safety precautions may remain and these will be circulated before each meeting.
I hope you can understand that this decision has been made in the best interests of our club and its members. Should any member have any concerns, please contact me on chair#chichestercameraclub.org.uk.
Finally, and rather sadly, the funeral of Charlie Roe will take place at St Mary Our Lady, Sidlesham on Tuesday 15th March at 11.00am with refreshments afterwards at the Church Hall.
Take Care
Mike
