Reminders and Upcoming Events

Club and Intermediate members: our first PDI competition of the season is approaching, and we would love to see your entries. Please submit your images by 23:59 on Thursday 22 October. Judge Keith Wilkinson will critique the entries on Thursday 5 November.

Saturday 17 October — SIG Camera Craft Photowalk, Chichester

Join us for a relaxed Composition Challenge photowalk around Chichester. It is a great opportunity to experiment with composition, catch up with fellow members, share ideas and enjoy taking photographs together. Smartphone cameras are ideal, although you are very welcome to bring another camera if you prefer. Full details are available on the club website.

Tuesday 20 October — RPS and Projects SIG, 19:15 for 19:30

Lorna will explain the new guidance that may affect anyone considering RPS accreditation. This will be a useful opportunity to ask questions, understand what has changed and consider your next steps.

We look forward to welcoming Rob Bonfield, who will judge our first Advanced Print competition of the season.

Resizing Images for Competitions

If you are new to competitions, resizing images can feel daunting—but help is at hand. We hope to arrange a friendly, step-by-step Zoom webinar for anyone who would appreciate extra guidance and confidence. If you are interested, please let Jeff Owen or Peter Farrelly know.

North Mundham Exhibition

It may seem early, but we would like to give Advanced members plenty of notice about our exhibition on the weekend of 6–7 February 2027.

We are looking for a volunteer to take over from Sarah Nichol in organising and managing the catering. After generously looking after this for us, Sarah is ready to hang up her apron and pass on the role. If you might be interested, we would love to hear from you.

We have also reserved two panels for Advanced members who would enjoy a creative challenge. Please send us images for possible inclusion; the only requirement is that each image must have been taken with a toy camera.

Thursday 15 October — Club Night

We were delighted to welcome Celia Henderson, who presented “Contemporary Flower Photography”. Celia spoke openly about the considerable time she spends processing her images, and the impressive results were there for everyone to see.

A big thank-you to Margret and Sandra for managing the raffle, and to Jane, Niki, Mark and Brian for helping with refreshments.
