Simon Weir LRPS – Beyond Visible Light

As part of his visit to CCC on the 24th September, infrared expert from North London, Simon Weir, is offering to run a free workshop during the afternoon for up to 12 members.
I would hope 12 members would be interested, if it turns out to be more, then names will be drawn out of a hat.
Itinerary :
2.00pm Meet up at Tangmere Hall
2.00-5.30pm Practical outdoor workshop in / near Chichester
Weather is always a risk, but if it’s too terrible then retiring to a local café to talk Infrared is an option.
5.30pm Dinner for Simon and his CCC host, Janey Devine (Carluccio’s or
similar) plus any other workshop participants (at their own cost).
7.30pm Talk to CCC members. First half instructive, second half I/R prints
Administration
I’ve seen this talk at Southampton, which is why I invited him back to Chichester, but we will be in Vienna on 24th September. Janey Devine – who showed some interesting I/R work at North Mundham a few years back – has kindly agreed to be the coordinator on the day.
There is no actual charge for the workshop, but if you have enjoyed the afternoon and want to make our Treasurer smile, you could always make a nominal payment (£5-£10) to David. This will help to reduce the overall cost of Simon’s visit. This is strictly an option, don’t feel obliged and if it rains all afternoon then it certainly would not be expected.
Equipment
Simon recommends that if you don’t have an I/R filter then it will improve your results if you get a Cokin I/R filter from Sussex Cameras / Jessops or similar. Don’t spend a fortune on Lee / B&W unless you think I/R will be your thing.
