Club Photowalk – Hotwalls

Hotwalls is the local name for the original defence structures built at the mouth of Portsmouth harbour. The photowalk is a linear one from Clarence Pier to the Spice Island pub. Everyone is invited!
There are many and varied photo opportunites along the way (bring at least a 24-105mm FF lens), but my personal faves are
. The daffs!
. The arts section built into the Hotwalls
. Victoria Pier
. The concrete and wood benches looking out to sea
. The steps leading into the Round Tower (pic above)
. The Spinnaker Tower up close (ish) at The Point
Meet just before 11am on Saturday April 2nd in Clarence Pier car park. Get to the Esplanade Car Park, PO5 3AD, (the what three words address is novel.mole.danger) and meet at the pedestrian exit on the roundabout (gave.basin.pouch)
The plan is to walk for five-ten minutes to get around the sea wall works, and join the walk proper at the daffodils.
Thats really it, dress for the weather. Wellies not necessary – just wear comfortable footwear. I’d be very surprised if the walk took less than three hours, so plan on that plus a little more for safety 🙂
