Temporary Closure of the Camera Club

To All Camera Club members

A Special Meeting of the Club Management Committee was held this evening to discuss the implications of the evolving Corona virus and being mindful of the Government advice issued this afternoon that everyone should avoid social contact in pubs, clubs, theatres etc. In the circumstances and with great regret the Management Committee had no choice but to determine that the Club be closed with immediate effect. This closure will last until the end of the current programme year at least.

We will continue to monitor the rapidly changing virus situation and the Government/medical advice on how best to deal with it. We all hope to be able to resume our Club activities as soon as it is safe to do so, hopefully in the Autumn.

This is a great disappointment to all of us but the health and welfare of all members has to be our primary concern, particularly in a situation where the elderly are most at risk. Further information on the Spring Exhibition, Annual Exhibition and the scheduled AGM will be issued in due course and we will endeavour to resume a normal programme as soon as we are able.

In the meantime stay safe, be mindful of Government and medical advice and enjoy the sunshine (if we ever get any). With best wishes for a healthy summer and beyond.

    Hello Mike,
It’s a great shame but I am sure all will appreciate that it was a difficult decision, but the correct one, for the Management Committee to have made. I am particularly frustrated as the over 70 restrictions have come just as I am 6 weeks post-op, so now able to drive and be fully active! Still, no more excuses for not getting to grips with Affinity! Keep safe and I’ll look forward to seeing everyone in the Autumn. Best,
    Madeleine
