The first RPS Special Interest Group Meeting of the season is on Tuesday 19th September. The group is for those who are interested in working towards the Royal Photographic Society’s accreditations, distinctions that many Club Members’ have enjoyed gaining and that offer an excellent opportunity to learn and develop your photographic skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are three levels, starting with the Licentiate (LRPS) that requires basic photographic and camera skills; Associateship (ARPS) that calls for higher level skills and a portfolio based on a theme, and the Fellowship (FRPS), the Society’s highest level award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group is run by Lorna Brown, and supported by Janey Devins and John Bradshaw – all three of whom are FRPS. Janey and Lorna are both assessors with the RPS, as was John for many years so there’s lots of very helpful advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This week we’ll also be able to see some of the most recent of the LRPS successes – that’s ten images showing a variety of techniques, such as depth of field, different shutter speeds and view points – to give you a good idea of what’s required. We’ll also be able to see Michael Palmer’s recent successful Fellowship panel which was in the contemporary section. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There’s no need to bring prints unless you’d like to of course, you’ll be welcome to simply come along to learn more. If you would, do come along at 7.15pm for 7.30pm start in the small hall at Tangmere Village Centre. There’s a charge of \u00a33 for Club members and \u00a34 for visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
