It is five weeks until the opening of the Annual Exhibition,\nso here are a few reminders of what will be happening and what we still need to\ndo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thursday 1st<\/sup> August<\/strong> \u2013 the Club Members\u2019\nPre-Exhibition Meeting. This is at\nTangmere Village Centre, our usual Club venue at the usual time of 7.30pm. Please bring your diary\/calendar and your\nwallet. The Exhibition Catalogue will be\navailable at the end of the meeting \u2013 still only \u00a31, and there will be posters\nand flyers for you make a nuisance of yourself with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sheila Tester<\/strong> will also be asking for contributions\neither in cash, or in kind for the Preview Evening buffet supper. We will also be appealing for home-made cakes\nthat we can sell by the slice during Exhibition week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stewarding<\/strong> \u2013 volunteers for stewarding are needed for\nvarious dates throughout Exhibition week. I will have the Rota Sheet at the Members\u2019 Pre-Exhibition\nMeeting on 1st<\/sup> August. I\nrealize that some people are working and\/or have other daytime commitments, but\nif you have images in the Exhibition, please try to help-out with the\nStewarding. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Friday 9th August<\/strong> \u2013 Exhibition Set-Up\nDay. All Members should attend on Friday\nmorning set up their own exhibit in accordance with the layout design. If you cannot get there, other people may be\nwilling to help with this, so please ask. There will be plenty of help on hand for those\nwho haven\u2019t done this before. We don\u2019t really\nwant people to arrive much before 10am so that the stands, prints and panel\nnumbers etc can be properly distributed and checked. If you arrive earlier, you may be standing\naround for a while. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It may be helpful to\nbring a tape measure, a small level, some string and some tape to simplify the\njob of arranging the prints on the panel. \nThe Club does carry some of these items that are available for you to\nuse if you do not have your own and the Club will be providing the Velcro pads\nused to attach the prints for the display boards. And, thanks to Jeff Owen and Ray Thurgood,\nthe Display boards are all now in good shape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Friday 9th August<\/strong> \u2013 Exhibition Preview\nEvening. All Members, their families and\nfriends are invited to attend the Exhibition Preview Evening. We also welcome invited guests from other\ncamera clubs. We aim to gather from 7pm for 7.30 start. After the\npreliminaries and Awards\u2019 ceremonials, there will be our traditional buffet\n(Sheila Tester will be looking for helpers) and a chance to view the exhibition\nbefore it opens to the public the following day. This is a usually a really\nenjoyable, social evening, so even if you didn\u2019t submit anything for the Exhibition\nthis year, please do come along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Saturday 10th to\nSaturday 17th August <\/strong>(closed Sunday) the Exhibition is open from 10am to\n5pm each day, with coffee, tea and cake available. There are some 293\nprints form and 149 projected images on show. Members who wish to have\ntheir own greetings cards on sale can do so \u2013 with a 15% commission to the\nClub. Please bring these along on the Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Saturday 17th August – 5pm <\/strong>\u2013\nExhibition Take-Down.
