Free On-Line Photography Course

John Marsh has received details of a free on-line photography course available now for Chichester members. The details are:

For those members who are still at an early stage of their skills development, or even for intermediate photographers who perhaps want to brush up on their knowledge, there is an excellent offer on-line from a photography tutorials business named Fstoppers.

Fstoppers offer a range of tutorial programmes which users can purchase, but for the next two weeks they are offering their foundation course, “Photography 101” completely free. This normally costs $99, so it’s a pretty good deal.

The course modules cover the following subjects:

  • Introduction to Cameras
  • Exposure Triangle
  • Exposing Your Camera in Manual
  • Cameras and Lenses
  • Metering Modes
  • Camera Modes and Exposure Compensation
  • Tripods
  • White Balance
  • Raw vs Jpeg
  • Focus
  • Focal Length
  • Cameras and Filters
  • Introduction to Lighting
  • Flash
  • Shooting in the Field
  • Introduction to Photoshop with Pratik Naik
  • Post Processing Practice with Lee

As you can see, it’s pretty comprehensive and should fill quite a few hours of your enforced isolation.

You can see further details of the course and find the download links here: https://fstoppers.com/photography-101-how-to-use-your-digital-camera-and-edit-photos-in-photoshop

Note: The downloads add up to just over 10Gb, which will take some time, so try running these overnight.
