DESCRIPTION:The RPS Group meets again in February on Tuesday 18th\, when we will continue our consideration of the distinctions offered by the Royal Photographic Society\, and provide the ongoing support to Club members and visitors in putting together successful panels at all RPS levels. \nFor Licentiate level\, you need to construct 10 images that sit well together in a complementary  way (the ‘panel’) that show a wide range of good photographic techniques. Associate level requires 15 images united with a theme and Fellowship 20 (or 21) images\, again with a strong theme. \nIf you’d like to find out more\, you’ll be very welcome to come along. DESCRIPTION:Born in East Yorkshire\, Paul’s interest for photography began at school. He then studied graphic design at art college and soon after began his design career in London working for many well known FMCG companies and brands. He now lives\, and runs his own design consultancy in Buckinghamshire and tries to devote most of his free time to photographing the landscape. \n \nPaul has had numerous exhibitions in London and the South East and has had articles and images published in many photographic magazines. He is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and currently serves on the Fine Art Distinctions Panel. A trustee of the Stephen H Tyng Collection\, a member of the prestigious Arena group and a founder member of The Landscape Collective UK (LCUK). Paul is also a well respected photographic judge and lecturer. \nPaul has also been successful in the prestigious Landscape Photographer of the Year competition\, winning the Sunday Times Choice Award in 2013\, the Urban Category winner in 2015 and commended in 2017 and 2018. He has also had recent successes in the Outdoor Photographer of the Year and the International Garden Photographer of the Year. \nApart from his self-published book on pinhole photography “Spirit of Light” he has collaborated with four renowned photographers to publish “The Coast – a personal view of the English coastline”.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:The Print Group meets on the 11th February with our usual mix of work in progress through to favourite prints brought along to share.   \nWith the Spring Exhibition just weeks away now (28th and 29th March) it’s also a perfect chance to bring along ideas for the exhibition where creativity is the order of the day and the usual rules about print mounts are abandoned. The priority for the Spring Exhibition\, as it is for North Mundham\,  is how to put together a compelling panel. \nAlso in March\, there is the Print Panel competition where the print competition mount rules  do apply while the emphasis is still on how images work best together. To that end\, we’ll start the evening with a look at the options within the 40 x 50 cms mount restriction. \nWe meet at 7.15 for a 7.30pm start in the small hall at Tangmere Village Centre\, with a £3 charge for Club Members (£4 non-members).   \nThe featured image is  High Tide at East Head by Wendy Chalk

Leo classes himself as a “Jobbing Amateur” who will photograph\, poorly\, anything that takes his fancy though he has developed a love of taking environmental people portraits when travelling.\nHe enjoys Wildlife (and the wildlife) and Natural History subjects but photographs them very badly. He is always seeking a fresh challenge in the hope that\, given time\, he will produce a half decent image. \n \nHistory\nHaving acquired an interest in photography whilst a schoolboy\, and teaching himself to take\, develop and print pictures he has been a “club photographer” for many years and is an avid entrant in photographic exhibitions throughout the World. In the past eight years alone he has amassed over 1000 acceptances\, achieving numerous medals\, ribbons and awards in more than 30 countries on five Continents. \nHe is also a Photographic Alliance of Great Britain Judge and has been the Selector for National and International Exhibitions as well as their own Awards for Photographic Merit scheme.

DESCRIPTION:The November meeting of the RPS group will be on Tuesday 19th\, as usual in the small hall at Tangmere Village centre with a 7.15 for 7.30pm start.  \nThe group meets to support both Club members and visitors who are interested in pursuing the accreditations offered by the Royal Photograph Society at Licentiate\, Associate and Fellowship levels.  \nThis supportive group has helped many over the years to attain these highly regarded accreditations so do come along to find out more.  There’s no need to bring work to begin with – you’ll be very welcome just to join us to see if this might be something you’d like to follow. \nThe cost per session is £3 for Club Members and £4 for visitors. \n The featured image is Home from the Market by Sarah Nichol and was one of the images in her recent successful LRPS submission

DESCRIPTION:  \nGavin Hoey is a freelance photographer\, writer and trainer of all things photographic. His work is regularly featured in photography magazines\, websites and videos. Gavin has a real passion for sharing his photography and Photoshop knowledge. In 2008 he started recording and uploading video tutorials to YouTube. These quickly gained a large following and to date his videos have been viewed over 20 million times. In 2010 Gavin was the winner of Adobe’s “Next Photoshop Evangelist” competition and since then he has given training demonstrations in Photoshop\, Lightroom and Photoshop Elements in the UK\, Europe and the US. DESCRIPTION:We had another very lively Print Group meeting in October and it is especially encouraging that so many of our newer members are coming along and starting to share their work. \nOur discussions turned to the use of good quality printing paper and with this in mind our November meeting will look in particular at the ranges of papers\, the pros and cons of lustre\, glossy and matt\, matching images to paper types and some of the different manufacturers. \nIf you’d like to just come along and find out more\, it isn’t obligatory to bring images\, but if you would like to\, do  bring your images\, work in progress or finished work as always. SUMMARY:1st Advanced Print Comp: Judge Bob Webzell ARPS EFIAP
DESCRIPTION:Bob is a past-president of Brighton and Hove Camera Club\, and A-list judge and a lecturer and judge in photography all over the south-east and also is a member of the Nature Photographers Portfolio\, and in conjunction with poet Wayne Visser\, produced his first book ‘African Dream’ in 2012. \nHis diverse travel and wildlife photography has helped achieve a LRPS in 2000 and an ARPS in 2001.  An  extensive involvement in international exhibiting since then has secured  over 300 images accepted into exhibitions world-wide and an AFIAP in 2011 and EFIAP in 2012. Next on the horizon should be the Masters in FIAP. \n
