DESCRIPTION:The Print Group will continue to meet via Zoom and meets next on Tuesday 9th June. We’ve hit our stride now and enjoying the opportunity to make some adjustments on screen\, such as quick cropping or mono conversions.  We have shared different work\, such as Jonathan Fiske  who is relearning film photography (an irony there as we have to meet digitally while he’s gone back to film) showing some of those first images that had been scanned in.  Others have brought back images they had worked on more since we last met\, or tried out new techniques.    You can find the invitation sign in details at the end of this post. \nOnce again\, you are welcome to submit up to three images\, and if so\, please read the following guidance on how to do so. \n\nPlease submit images by the end of Monday 8th June\nResize images to 1600 x 1200 pixels (apologies – a typo slipped in to the size given before)\, maximum 2MB. DESCRIPTION:Thomas Peck is a keen landscape and architecture photographer who is a member of Loughton Camera Club in Essex. Tom writes for several magazines\, Black & White Photography ‘onlandscape.co.uk’  and leads photo workshops around the world for Quest Photography ‘quest photo.co.uk’. His talk tonight is about the ‘Sublime in Photography’ a term that comes from the art world and applies fully to photography. We shall look at the history of the sublime in painting\, then in the early days of photography particularly in the American West. We’ll look at several current themes\, Ice\, Mountains and Water\, then how the sublime is being photographed today by Kenna\, Sugimoto\, Burtynsky and more\, finally followed by a journey into the future. The presentation has a sprinkling of Tom’s photos alongside those  of the greats. DESCRIPTION:Mark Pain is a multi-award winning sports photographer with over 25 years experience and international recognition. Covering major events worldwide from the Olympic Games to the Ryder Cup\, and from football and rugby World Cups to World Championship athletics\, Mark has worked at the top of his profession for many years and was Chief Sports Photographer of the Mail On Sunday for over twenty years. \nHe captures Premier League football action most weeks\, as well as taking portraits and features of the biggest and best stars in the world of sport\, working for both editorial and corporate clients. \nHaving won many competitions and been highly commended on numerous occasions\, including as a sports finalist in the World Press Photo 1998\, Mark was named as the Sports Photographer of the Year in 2005 and 2011 at the British Press Awards. \nHe was named as the British Airways Olympic Photographer Of The Year 2012 at the prestigious UK Guild Of Picture Editors Awards. \nIn 2011 Mark successfully launched the first dedicated Sports Photography School in the UK\, and in 2013 became a Nikon UK Ambassador.
