DESCRIPTION:====== UPDATE – There is some (re)construction of the sea walls going on at Clarence Pier. The original meet spot and car park have been changed\, as have one or two of the highlights. The blurb below has been updated to reflect this ============== \nHotwalls is the local name for the original defence structures built at the mouth of Portsmouth harbour.  The photowalk is a linear one from Clarence Pier to the Spice Island pub. Everyone is invited! \nThere are many and varied photo opportunites along the way (bring at least  a 24-105mm FF lens)\, but my personal faves are \n  \n. The daffs! \n. The arts section built into the Hotwalls \n. Victoria Pier \n. The concrete and wood benches looking out to sea \n. The steps leading into the Round Tower (pic above) \n. The Spinnaker Tower up close (ish) at The Point \n  \nMeet just before 11am on Saturday April 2nd in Clarence Pier car park.  Get to the Esplanade Car Park\, PO5 3AD\,  (the what three words address is  novel.mole.danger)  and meet at the pedestrian exit on the roundabout (gave.basin.pouch) \nThe plan is to walk for five-ten minutes to get around the sea wall works\, and join the walk proper at the daffodils. \nThats really it\, dress for the weather. Wellies not necessary – just wear comfortable footwear. I’d be very surprised if the walk took less than three hours\, so plan on that plus a little more for safety 🙂  \nMy number\, as always\, is 07974 173345 \nSee you there!  \n🙂 \n

DESCRIPTION:  \n \nAnne took up photography in around 1984 and finds it difficult to put into words exactly what her ‘style’ is. Others have described her work as pastel or pale and interesting. They also comment that she sees pictures in places that others would pass by without a glance. She is best known for her ever-expanding series of pictures of lady’s public conveniences and for the fact that many of her pictures include a dog. Anne never passes by the opportunity for a photograph and takes landscapes\, natural history and travel photographs. Since around 2001\, Anne has concentrated on making alternative images in familiar locations such as Cuba \, taking perverse pleasure in the fact that nobody can guess the location.

SUMMARY:Astrid McGechen		Publishing a book – A Mystery
DESCRIPTION:Astrid is a freelance photographer and book author based in Surrey. She started to seriously engage in photography a few years ago\, when struggling to juggle the demands of family life\, motherhood and a stressful job. Spending time outdoors and photographing became her way of balancing life. \nInitially\, Astrid photographed almost exclusively landscapes\, drawing her inspiration from scenes in the natural world that evoke a sense of tranquillity and harmony. Often\, she’d be drawn towards the less obvious details in the landscape – such as shapes\, patterns or a particular colour – making them the primary subject of her images. In the last few years\, Astrid has become fascinated by street life and architecture and has photographed extensively in cities in the UK and abroad.

Bring them on a phone or a laptop if thats easier ====== \n===== Also please ensure that you have taken a Lateral Flow Test on the day itself\, and that you are double jabbed and boosted! ======= \n  \nI’m afraid this one is going to be tough one – for all of you. \nI’m going to show you how you can\, almost immediately\, improve your images significantly. Significantly. Push-you-right-to-the-top-of the-Intermediate-tables-significantly. Unfortunately it also means that after the session you may never look at your own images in the same way again ….. \n\nThe cornerstone of photography – Composition\n\nI’ll go through the rules of composition\, with emphasis ONLY on the ones which you can use practically in the field. I’ve carried out an analysis on my own (because using others’ images probably infringes copyright laws) last 70 keeper images to support my views – and after an exercise or two\, I’ll be asking you to evaluate your own images …..  \n2. DESCRIPTION:I’ve always enjoyed visiting new places\, meeting new people and I suffer from an unquenchable desire to escape normality. For as long as I can remember I’ve always had the urge to get out and see the world\, experience new cultures and explore wild landscapes but it wasn’t until I started to travel the world that photography became one of my great passions in life. \nOver the past decade or so I’ve been able to travel extensively and experience many of the amazing gifts the planet has to offer. It’s these experiences that naturally led to me specialising in travel photography. Although it’s often the incredible landscapes that make people want to travel\, it’s the culture and interaction with the native people that I find the most rewarding. I love to take candid photos of people going about their everyday life. My Experience! You can view it here with all the other entries \n\n\n\nPeter also received a letter from Alan Mac MP for Havant\, which shows the local interest in the book. Of the 100 copies printed and more than half have sold.

SUMMARY:Slawek Staszczuk: Landscape - from idea to post-production
DESCRIPTION:Slawek is a freelance photographer specialising in landscape\, travel and architecture. Born and raised in Gdynia\, on the Baltic coast of Poland\, he moved to Brighton in 2007. The countryside around the city proved very inspiring and led him to develop his\, then novel and since often imitated\, style of photographing the South Downs with telephoto lenses.
