Thursday 2nd March

We were sorry our good friend Rob de Ruiter was unable to join us last night, but enjoyed an evening of very thorough and warm judging by first time Club visitor, Paul Thackeray.  Paul, who Chairs Wimborne Camera Club, was with us for the second and final Club Class and Intermediate PDI Competitions. As Ann McDonald noted in her Vote of Thanks, Paul was a very communicative and empathetic judge, with a positive, encouraging approach to the images and thoughtful, constructive points about any shortcomings. He was was also very flattering about the Club’s work in general and we look forward to seeing him again at our exhibitions and as a judge.

New Club Member, Helenka Boden (Liz and Wojtek’s daughter) kept up her high standard and came in at the top of the Club Class League, narrowly beating Andrew Vance by just half a point, with Mark Stevens just half a point behind him.  Paul Williams, with two straight 10s last night, tops the Intermediate League, with Philip Acland and Justin Hadley in second and third places.  Well done to all competitors for another stimulating PDI round. All the images scoring 10 points are shown below.

Advanced workers are reminder that it’s only two weeks to the next print competition deadline on 16th March, and next week will also be the final judging of the Small Print Competition.
