Summer Exhibition 2015

Update:

See: Popular Vote Winners for most popular vote winners.

As ever, this year’s Chichester Camera Club Summer Exhibition will take place at:

The Assembly Rooms
North Street
Chichester
PO19 1LQ

Saturday August 15th to Saturday August 22nd
Open daily from 10am to 5pm
(CLOSED SUNDAY)
Admission is FREE

Club members from all groups of ability (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) will be displaying over 250 prints and as well as the static displays of prints a rolling slide show of more than 150 digital images will be shown on a flat screen monitor. The exhibition takes place on the first floor of the Assembly Rooms. Access is via the stairs on the left as you enter the building by the main front door. There is also a lift providing access for wheelchairs, electric buggies and those who do not wish to tackle the staircase so please ask at the main downstairs reception for directions if you wish to make use of this. (If you do use the lift you will enter the exhibition hall directly so please check in at the reception desk by the main entrance to the hall so that you can be counted in and gain access to the benefits outlined below).

Club members will be manning the reception desk at the main entrance to the exhibition hall where you can ask any questions you may have about the exhibition, the exhibits or the club in general. A high quality, full colour, Exhibition Catalogue will be on sale there for £1.00. Profit from the sale of this goes into club funds and helps cover the costs of staging the exhibition. Also for anyone wishing to boost club funds by showing their appreciation of the quality of work they have seen in the exhibition, there will be a donations box there on the desk.

You will also be offered a voting slip where you can vote for your favourite photograph in the exhibition and at the same time be in with a chance of winning a fabulous prize of a £40 book token as at the end of the exhibition, on Saturday August 22nd, one voting slip will be chosen at random to select the prize winner, so make sure to write your contact details on your slip. The photographer whose photograph receives the maximum number of votes will also win a small prize.

The official opening ceremony and trophy presentation will take place at 7:30pm on the evening of Friday 14th August and is open to Chichester Camera Club members, their families and invited guests.

There will be ample seating in front of the monitor showing the slide show which will loop continuously and last for approximately 12 minutes. Further seating will be provided around the exhibition hall for anyone wanting to rest and/or reflect!

Getting There By bus: Buses stop outside Chichester Cathedral in West Street. From there it is about a 150 metre walk to the Market Cross and then, bearing left into North Street, the Assembly Rooms are approximately another 150 metres on the right.
See Stagecoach Bus

By bicycle: There are a number of cycle racks dotted about the streets of Chichester, several of which are just a few metres from the Assembly Rooms: sites 6, 7 & 8 on the Cycle Rack Location Map.

By train: The train station is close to Southgate in Chichester. From there it is about a 500 metre walk up South Street to the Market Cross. Then straight on into North Street where the Assembly Rooms are approximately another 150 metres on the right.
See National Rail Enquiries

By car: We would recommend parking in either Northgate Car Park (836 spaces, 10 disabled) or Little London Car Park (123 spaces, 3 disabled). During this busy time of year you will probably find it easier to find a space in Northgate than in Little London. From there it is less than a 10 minute stroll through the pedestrian subway and down North Street to the Assembly Rooms on your left. All Chichester City car parks charge for parking, the two recommended above included. There are many other car parks around the city – see the Chichester District Council’s leaflet Where to park in Chichester and District 2015/2016 for more information.
