ARPS Success

The reason for that was the starting point in Bath at the Royal Photographic Society headquarters where my ‘Botanicals’ panel was assessed for Associate membership.  I’m delighted to say this was successful, and my panel was very warmly received by the assessors who were most complimentary.

As you can guess, I’m thrilled to achieve this, and very grateful to everyone who helped me along the way.  Graham Sergeant who runs the RPS Group with Iain McGowan and John Bradshaw top that list of course, but Dave Abbott’s quiet encouragement – and careful checking of the Latin names (no more Freesia incidents!) was also valuable.  One of the real strengths of our Club is the support we give each other and the generous sharing of skills, so thank you to David Harris and Stephen Marsh from whom I learnt technical skills and to Ross Laney for the loan of the copy stand! And finally, a thank you also to Glyn Edmunds who put me in touch with Chris Palmer, an RPS assessor who was so encouraging.

To find out more about the RPS distinctions, do come along to the next group meeting on Tuesday 15th November at 7.30 in the small hall at Tangmere.

We had rather a good RPS week as Graham is featured in the Society’s November Journal  receiving the RPS Grand Prix Trophy and Gold Medal for his AV Beeswing from RPS President Walter Benzie, and Glyn ‘s forthcoming presentation with Dianne Owen to the RPS Creative Group in Cambridgeshire.
